Hungarian Izabella Simon studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest with, among others, Jenö Jandó and composer-pianist György Kurtag. In retrospect, she has played at a number of the world’s major festivals.
She has a special interest in the singing repertoire and works regularly with several well-known singers within the lied repertoire.
Together with her husband Denes Varjon, she devotes a lot of time to the huge repertoire of four-handed piano music as well as music for two pianos. She also has a great interest in educational projects. Among other things, she has several projects for children, where music is often the starting point for knowledge about other art genres.
She is a regular soloist with Hungarian and other European orchestras, and runs the Night of Chamber Music festival in Budapest with her husband. They both live in this city with their two children.
