As a patch on the wound to anyone looking forward to this summer’s festival, there will be several small classic summer concerts during the same time period. The program is the Sonoro string quartet.
Lofoten Piano Festival was supposed to fill the Lofoten with a broad festival program between 6 – 11 July. Unfortunately, the festival was canceled earlier this year. Tickets for the replacement – Classic November Light – have already been released. To minimize the empty room in this summers festival week, the string quartet Sonoro has announced its arrival.
The string quartet Sonoro became famous in Lofoten during last year’s anniversary festival. In addition to attending several of the festival’s events, they held mini concerts at cafes, malls, galleries and restaurants. The quartet consists of Daniel Goldin, Martha-Pil Evertsen Neumer, Tuva Odland and Hedda Aadland.
Sonoro will start with a mini concert at Galleri Lofoten in Henningsvær on Sunday, July 5 at 8 pm. Then they will perform various locations from Svolvær in the east to Leknes in the west. They also play aboard the Brim Explorer.

Information about the classic summer concerts is posted on both the festival’s Facebook page and website. All concerts are free, with the exception of Brim Explorer where the boat tour must be booked in advance.
